I pass on the following news from Christine Johnston who discovered the Thunder
Bay Violet-green Swallow:

"I’m sorry to report that this morning a group of us watched the predation of
the violet-green swallow’s nest box by a red squirrel. As the squirrel entered
the box, all the other tree swallow gathered around to try and scare off the
squirrel without success. The male tree swallow and the violet-green swallow
flew around frantically and after a few minutes the red squirrel left the box.
The pair stayed near the box and perched on the branch a few times but the
violet-green never went in the box again.”
