This afternoon after I saw a gull that appeared to be a Franklin's Gull, something didn't sit right with me. I poured through books trying to look and remember features on the "Franklin's" Gull I saw. Fortunately Gavin Edmonstone forwarded me some pictures tonight which I then forwarded to local experts. This is indeed what I had suspected a Black-headed Gull. So anyone seeing this bird tomorrow, please post immediately, there are many birders who need this beast for their HSA lists and it would be nice if everyone could have it on the list. Please find attached pictures of the bird so you know what youre are looking for.
Cheryl (world gull expert.......NOT!!!) Directions: Bronte Harbour is located at the end of Bronte Road in Oakville. Viewing is best from the main pier in the morning on sunny days but you can also view the area from Bronte Beach which is on West River Road, down at the marina. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
