While helping my wife with a fun fair at West Hill Public School today, I
was also able to enjoy the sight of quite a few chimney swifts cavorting
close by during the morning set-up. Don't know where the colony might be
roosting, but there were enough to make me believe that they are local, and
not just a group of migrants.

Anyone wishing to check them out would find ample parking at the mall on
the southeast corner of Morningside Ave. and Kingston Rd., GPS
location 43.770683, -79.185142 Coming east or west along the 401, exit at
Morningside Rd., Exit #387, and travel south approximately 4km
