Today there was at least one Sedge Wren to be found at Isaac Lake. It was
singing frequently and responded well to pishing. It appeared to be building a
nest as it was carrying nesting material and returning to the same clump of
grass roughly 8-10 meters from the road. It was seen, and eventually
photographed (http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S37225406), at the bend in
the road once you get into the open marsh.

Isaac Lake can be accessed off highway 6 north of Wiarton by turning down Isaac
Lake Rd.

On Saturday night, we had more than a dozen Common Nighthawks fly over us while
on Little Cove Rd. Also present were at least five Eastern Whip-poor-wills. We
managed to see the silhouettes of two, and they appeared to be doing some
aerial combat. Very close to the road around 9:30 pm.

Little Cove Rd. is accessed from highway 6 just south of Tobermory.

There were two Piping Plovers at Sauble Beach around 6:00 pm. They are nesting,
and there are barriers up so they should not be a hassle to locate. One was on
the nest while another was working its way along the shoreline. The male was
unbanded, which I thought was a bit interesting. Very cooperative.

Sauble Beach is about 20 minutes south of Wiarton. When driving down Main
Street toward the lake, turn right and you should find the enclosure on the
beach.

Good birding,
