On Tuesday between 3:00 and 4:00 EST (4:00 and 5:00 EDT) Darren Smillie and
I saw an unusual buteo, but we did not have suitable reference materials to
hand. Rather than delay the report I submitted the report, and Darren and I
had time to consult others and to compare notes today. The determination is
that the buteo was a juvenile Swainson's Hawk and the Hawkcount records have
been amended.

This change brought the total number of species seen that day to thirteen.

NPH @ Beamer Conservation Area is on Quarry Road, which runs north from
Ridge Road on top of the escarpment in Grimsby.
