It was nice to finally see the sun today at Point Pelee. With the warmth
insects started to rise from the sand at the Tip attracting large numbers of
swallows and the recurring SCARLET TANAGER. There was also at least 5
RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS in the Tip area.

SOLITARY SANDPIPERS continue to be seen from the Woodland & Tilden Trails.

WHITE-EYED & BLUE-HEADED VIREOS were reported from the Red Bud Trail, and an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen in the Botham Woods Loop.

EASTERN BLUEBIRDS are being seen in Cactus Field north of the Tilden Woods on
the Chinquapin Oak Trail. Birders should also keep an eye out for
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT in this same area.

Outside of the NP at the Hillman Marsh shorebird cell a WILSON'S PHALAROPE &
RUDDY TURNSTONES have been reported. Birders should also be on the lookout for
Black-bellied Plovers as 3 flocks of 100 - 150 birds flew into the tip to land,
but then pulled out as there is not tip after yesterday's storm.

Notice: Be advised that the west trail at the Tip is closed for construction to
repair damage from the storm.
