Hi again everyone,
The Rondeau white-winged dove continues Monday morning. I expect it to stay
throughout the spring and into the summer, as it did last year. I talked to the
owner of the house, Mel, this morning. He says that yesterday was the first
time he saw it, too. He feeds it seeds every morning, by throwing them out off
the porch. Mel is very accommodating and loves to visit with anyone that comes
by. It calls often and is often seen perched on the roof of his Toyota Venza.
Last year, it even tried to make a few nests on the roof of the car and near
the windshield wipers.
The location is 17272 Lakeshore Rd, about 1/2 km past the Visitor Center.
This will be my last ontbirds post about this bird but you can follow my
sightings, as well as those of others on eBird. A reminder that it costs $17
per vehicle if you don't have a Provincial Parks pass (don't shoot the
messenger). Good luck to all who try for this bird.
Steve
