Highlights of reports received October 20 through October 27 from the Niagara Frontier Region. Shorebird migrants still on the Niagara Penisula of Ontario. In Dunnville, in the 400 block of Canal Bank Road, a RED PHALAROPE, with AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER and DUNLIN. At the Mosaic Ponds, north of Rock Point Provincial Park, one or two WESTERN SANDPIPERS and eight WHITE-R. SANDPIPERS, plus KILLDEER, SEMIPALM. SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER, PECTORAL SANDPIPER, DUNLIN and WILSON'S SNIPE. First SNOW BUNTING reports of the season - arriving off Lake Erie at Dunkirk Harbor in Chautauqua County, and the Bird Island Pier in Buffalo. GR. WHITE-FR. GOOSE and arriving HOODED MERGANSER also at Dunkirk Harbor. And at the Bird Island Pier, 15 SURF SCOTERS, 2 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS and 60 LONG-TAILED DUCKS. Also this week, two COMMON RAVENS over Woodward and Military Avenue in Tonawanda. The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, November 3. Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday.
