Two banded Piping Plover continue to be seen along the Burlington Beach
Strip today. They have been moving up and down along the beach but most
often seen today between the 3rd and 4th hydro tower coming south from
Spencer Smith Park. It is uncertain whether they will be disturbed with
beach goers but the groomer did not scrape this part of the beach this
morning as they were alerted to the birds prescience.

You cannot access Lakeshore Road along the beach strip directly from
Lakeshore Road in Burlington. You must go to Eastport Drive towards Niagara
and then go to the lights where Canada Centre for inland waters is, go
through the lights to Lakeshore and proceed down the beach as far as the
parking lot will go along the shore. Park here and walk out to the beach.
Else wise you can park at Spencer Smith and walk up. They are moving about,
last night they were between hydro tower one and two coming south from
Spencer Smith Park.

If coming off the QEW take the Eastport exit and follow to the light at
Canada Centre for Inland Waters then follow the directions above. Later in
the day might be better now as there will be many beach goers.

Cheers,
Cheryl Edgecombe
