3.5 hrs of birding there yesterday ending at 5:00 pm. These are my
numbers: Killdeer (73); Semipalmated Plover (3); Greater Yellowlegs (1);
Lesser Yellowlegs (86); Solitary Sandpiper (9); Spotted Sandpiper (11);
Least Sandpiper (46); Semipalmated Sandpiper (8); Pectoral Sandpiper (3);
Stilt Sandpiper (1); Short-billed Dowitcher (1); peep species: 60 - 99% in
the south basin. No sign of the Red-necked Phalarope. About 45 Black Terns
were still present and about 150 Bonaparte's Gulls. Best photo ops for
Black Terns is the west basin where they were feeding close to the west
shoreline in some floating algae mats or perched on wire near the se
shoreline. I posted two photos on Ont.bird.photo of an adult feeding one
or two newly-fledged young.

Note that a $10.00 birder's permit is required to enter the site. The
lagoons are located nw of Port Perry: take Simcoe north to Scugog Line 8
which is the first street north of Reach Street; just a short distance west
of Simcoe Street.
