Good morning birders,

For the most part birding seems fairly slow in Rondeau today. There are
good numbers of warblers feeding quietly in the treetops at places like
Spicebush Trail, but the rapidly increasing leaf cover is making them
fairly difficult to see.

Prothonotary Warblers are still present at Tulip Tree Trail and on Rondeau
Rd. just south of Bennett.

A singing Hooded Warbler was on Harrison Trail several hundred metres south
of Pony Barn.

A Whimbrel was sitting on Dog Beach (just north of the Visitor Centre) this
morning, but seems to have since left.

A Red-throated Loon was seen distantly off the washout on South Point Trail.

Thank you to everyone who contributed sightings and please continue to
do so to me through email, or to the Visitor Centre in person or at (519)
674-1768.

More information on the park's nature programs and the Friends
of Rondeau is available at the Friends' website:
www.rondeauprovincialpark.ca.

Directions: Take exit 101 from Highway 401 and drive South 16 km on
Chatham Kent Road 15. Turn right and follow the signs to the park. Bird
sighting information, bird checklists, bird feeders, and breakfast and
lunch offered by the Friends can be found at the visitor centre. To reach
the visitor centre from the park gate, travel 6 km South on Rondeau Road to
Gardiner Ave., then follow it around the bend to the parking lot. I lead
guided bird hikes in the park twice daily - contact the visitor centre for
more information.
