All,

Yesterday evening at Rock Point Provincial Park I found what appears to be
a probable quite uncommon Dunlin * White-rumped Sandpiper hybrid (or less
possibly Dunlin * Baird's). I apologize for the 24 hour delay in posting, I
wanted to get some external feedback an thoughts before posting. Multiple
individuals I have asked for support on the bird have agreed on the ID.

Rock Point Provincial Park is located south of Dunnville on the north shore
of Lake Erie (I guess it would have to be the north shore to still be in
Ontario). It is reached by taking Highway 3 and then turning off on Niece
Rd.

The shorebird habitat is in the southeast corner of the park past the
beach, and continues for perhaps 1-1.5 km along the shore. The bird was
approximately half way along this habitat.

For those Whimbrel fans, there were 7 on the beach when I arrived at the
eariest rock outcrop, but as soon as they saw me they flew off to the west,
but may still be around.

Pics of the bird are available upon request.
