Birders might be interested in taking part in the annual Carden Challenge
from 6 p.m. May 27 to 6 p.m. May 28th. Teams of four compete for top
honours in biodiversity, competitive birding and recreational birding in a
fun and friendly atmosphere. Participants collect pledges, with all
donations supporting the protection and stewardship of the Carden Alvar.

In previous years, Challenge teams have turned up such rarities as
Kirtland's Warbler and Chuck-will's-Widow, and last year one team watched a
fly-over by a flock of Whimbrels. Where else can you expect to see up to
136 birds species in late May?

New teams are always welcome, or you can support the team of your choice
on-line. See www.couchichingconserve.ca for details.

The Carden Challenge takes place within the Carden Alvar CBC circle,
located around Kirkfield, Ontario.
