Birders:
Late this afternoon, while watching and photographing the pair of Harlequin Ducks that have been hanging out at Erieau for the past several weeks, I noted a largish shorebird on the far break wall across the channel. It turns out it is a Willet (western). I did not see it arrive, or leave, so I can't say which way it was headed, but there is lots of shoreline in this area. Photos are on my blog: http://pawsnaturenuggets.blogspot.ca/2016/04/willet-harlequins-snowy-forsters.html Directions: From Hwy 401, take exit 90 and go south to Blenheim. At the main intersection of Blenheim turn right onto Talbot Street West, and go through the town and continue on Talbot Trail (C-K 3) to Erieau Road (C-K 12). Follow Erieau Road south into the village of Erieau, and then follow Mariner's Road to the main channel. Good birding!
