The Harlequin Duck, which is an Immature male, was seen on Sunday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. The bird has been hanging around for the last few days, but I don't believe it has been reported before to ONTBIRDS. I have photos, which can be viewed on my eBird checklist. There were at least two dozen other birders there, all of which agree on Harlequin. Other birds of interest were two Wood Ducks and sixteen Tree Swallows. To reach the location, park at Storybook Gardens, which can be accessed off Springbank Drive. When facing the river, turn left and walk down and past Springbank Dam. Below the dam, there is an "island" and that is were the Harlequin has been seen. Good luck, Quinten Wiegersma London, Ontario [email protected] _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
