The cells are open, the berms are dry and there are many species of waterfowl
present. This morning we observed over 100 Tundra Swans flying over or
resting on the largest cell. Among the 200+ Mallard and 150 Canadas there were
25 American Widgeon, 15 Northern Pintail, 20 American Black Duck, 1 Ring-necked
Duck, 2 Bufflehead, and 1 Common Merganser. Other migrant species seen
included Killdeer, Turkey Vulture, Song Sparrow, red-wing, and grackle.
