At about 4:00 p.m. today I observed 5 adult trumpeter swans on the Rideau River in Smiths Falls near Lower Reach Park at Riverdale Avenue. They'd been there a good part of the day and may stay overnight as Trumpeters come through here each spring and fall for the past few years.
