Today I birded this area following many reports of the Wilson's Warbler at this location. I failed to find it on my round of the water Treatment fence line but one my second pass I met Jim Lamey (sp?) and he pointed out the Blue-headed Vireo in a birch in the area. Grey head with white spectacles; white wing bars; white throat and under parts; cream-colored sides; relatively heavy bill. The male Wilson's Warbler flew up from the Joshua Creek area and landed in the small tangle one a steep slope near an old birch stump and I viewed for about 3-5 minutes while it actively fed near the fence line: black cap on lemon yellow body and plain olive green wings and back; a lot tail flicking going on. The Hermit Thrush was feeding with a flock of 30+ robins both on the grassy area near the fence and on the concrete walkways between treatment reservoirs. Bold-Spotted breast; greenish brown back and coverts and head; white eye ring; reddish tail; tail movement up and down. The exact co-ordinates of this location are *43-28'-59.59" N/-79-39'-51.18'W*.
Directions: This part of the Arkendo Park is located north of Lakeshore Road near the south end of Winston Churchill Boulevard (turn south at the south end of Winston Churchill and turn right heading east over the Joshua Creek and turn right on Armigon Lane which passed Clanmore Montesorri School the left past the entrance to the Waste Water Plant entrance to the parking lot on Joshua's Creek Trail). Back track to the entrance of the Waste Water Plant and follow the fence line and row of tall spruce to a small walking trail which take you around to the side sloping steeply to Joshua Creek. The little patch where this warbler feeding is very small and marked by a thick birch stump and impossible to miss.
