Today I found a first winter Orange-crowned Warbler and a Hermit Thrush on
Snake Island just off the bridge where there are lots of berries and at times
lots of Cedar Waxwings.

I found 2 Winter Wrens just west of the boat rental building on Center Island
thanks to a quick rattle (alarm ?) that drew my attention to one chasing the
other.

The Snake Island bridge is approx. 1.2 km west of the Ward’s Island ferry dock
and Center Island boat rental dock is beside the lagoon (opposite the Island
Zoo) approx. .9 km past the Snake Island bridge if your a Crow or about 1 km
along the paved paths.

Directions:-

The ferry docks are at the very south end of bay Street – Fare $7.50 adults –
$4.75 Seniors / Students.

The ferries are on Winter schedule and only go to Ward’s Island.

You can't see birds if you don't go out but sit and wait for others to find
them.
