Hi Ontbirders,

Tony Thatcher and I drove up to Packenham late this morning, arriving about
12:15. There were three observers present, two of whom were just departing
and they advised us that the bird was feeding in its usual apple tree at the
end of Dalkeith St. It was on the rail bed side of the tree and best
observed from the rail bed or the adjacent embankment from where Tony and I
watched it for about ten minutes. The bird was far less skittish than when I
saw it Friday afternoon, 4 December.

The bird then moved to the front of the tree towards Dalkeith Street and we
had to move back around to the property where the school buses are parked,
from which parking lot we observed the bird for another ten minutes or so
until it flew past us and disappeared into, or perhaps behind, a tall
coniferous tree set back off Dalkeith on the property across Dalkeith from
the school bus parking area.

Great views, particularly in the scope from the embankment as the sun was
behind us so the bird showed very well.

Happy birding,

Peter Campbell
