Weather:
Our run of muggy November conditions showed no sign of subsiding. A more
extensive covering of clouds brought a slight change of pace today, but it
remained hot and humid with temperatures reaching up into the 60s. Off to
our south, dense lake fog refused to budge, obscuring Canada throughout.
And to our north, a thick layer of haze continued to limit visibility,
boxing us in on both sides. The wind was again light and out of the south.
Raptor Observations:
A lone late Osprey, scope looks at a distant Golden and nice looks at a few
harriers. That was about it. Not much else to add after this one.
Non-raptor Observations:
American Goldfinch (40+), Pine Siskin (35+), Purple Finch (3), Tree Swallow
(17), Rusty Blackbird (60+), Blue Jay (3), Dark-eyed Junco (2), Great Blue
Heron (10), Pied-billed Grebe (1), Forster's Tern (2), Monarch (2)
Predictions:
Cloudy, rainy and warm in the morning with falling temperatures and
clearing in the afternoon. The wind, out of the south early, is expected to
swing around to the west later. There might be some birds moving after the
rain clears but Saturday is looking more promising.
