  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological
  Society. To contact the Science Museum, call 896-5200. Press
  the pound key to report sightings before the end of this
  report.

  Highlights of reports received October 8 through October 15
  from the Niagara Frontier Region.

  October 11, at the Town of Sheridan Cemetery and surrounding
  fields in Chautauqua County, eight sparrow species
  highlighted by a CLAY-COL. SPARROW, with FIELD SPARROW,
  WHITE-CR. SPARROW, WHITE-THR. SPARROW, SAVANNAH SPARROW,
  SONG SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW and SWAMP SPARROW, plus
  DARK-EYED JUNCO. Also in Sheridan, WILSON'S SNIPE, GRAY
  CATBIRD, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and AMERICAN PIPITS.

  In Erie County, October 10, a WARBLING VIREO in South Wales.

  At the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center in Wyoming County this
  week, highlights were BROAD-WINGED HAWK, GR. CR. FLYCATCHER,
  COMMON RAVEN and HERMIT THRUSH.

  Also this week, a SORA in a swale area along the Amherst
  Bike Path on the UB North Campus.

  The annual Vaughn Lecture will be this Wednesday,
  October 21, at 7 PM at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Dr.
  Edwin Scholes of Cornell University will present on the
  recently published National Geographic "Birds of Paradise:
  Revealing the World's Most Extraordinary Birds". The lecture
  is open to all; expect stunning imagery, sounds and video.

  The Bird Report will be updated Thursday evening, October
  22. Please call in your sightings by noon Thursday. You may
  report sightings after the tone. Thank you for calling and
  reporting.
