Visitors:
Thanks to everyone who helped today...Matt, Mac, Jen and Derek, Mary, Jim,
Winston, Doug and Ev Brown, Keith, Chris B....and there were lots of
visitors today as well, some from Ottawa, Montreal and near Trois Riviere,
Woodstock and London.
Weather:
A sunny day with strong winds SW winds...usually the kind of day we expect
to see birds right along the cliff riding the updraft. Temp was even warmer
to a high of 21C and there was virtually no cloud cover.
Raptor Observations:
Unfortunately, there just didn't seem to be any birds in the pipeline. The
total birds for the day was 45...with TVs (15), Bald Eagle (4), N. Harrier
(13 - including some males), Sharpies (4), Cooper's Hawk (3), Redtails 2),
Am. Kestrels (4), a single Merlin and a lone Peregrine.
Non-raptor Observations:
Some non-raptor observations today ....Am. Crows moving though along the
ravine to the north along with many Blue Jays sneaking along the tree
lines. Quite a few YR Warblers, Am. Robins, Common Loons, many Kinglets of
both Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned, Pileated Woodpecker, E. Phoebe, RB
Woodpecker, E. Bluebirds, N. Flicker and a couple of Black-backed Gulls.
