Visitors:
Some visitors today with great eyesight... Gavin  from London, Alan from
Ancaster, Michael and Sandra from Cambridge, Bouwe and Karen Bergsma from
St Catherines. Many thanks to them and to several regular volunteers who
were out to do the count...Ches, Jim, Clive, Don T., Don C., Keith S.


Weather:
Winds started light from the NW then swung through NE, ENE, ESE and finally
SE. Temp got to a high of 22C under a mix of sun and clouds.

Raptor Observations:
A total of 226 raptors were tallied for the day with mostly Sharpies (173),
Bald Eagles (4), N. Harriers (16) and for the falcons, Kestrels (23),
Merlin (3) and a single Peregrine. Well, another beauty day to be out and
about but not the kind of weather to encourage many raptors to move.
                                                                                
                                                                
The day started with birds extremely high and a flight path mainly to the
north. As the morning wore on the flight got even higher and farther
north.


Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors: Parula and Tennessee warblers, RB woodpecker, N. flicker, DC
Cormorants, Cedar Waxwings and 50 Monarchs sighted passing the hawkwatch
today.
