Visitors:

Weather:
A handful of puffy white clouds added some zest to a mostly blue sky.
Temperatures remained mild for a third straight day, never ascending above
the low 70s. The wind was light all day, northeast at first, then east,
then shifting southeast late.
Raptor Observations:
Broad-winged Hawks continued their southward march. Streaming out over the
lake in the morning, by the afternoon the flight line had shifted well to
our north. Several streams passed behind the stacks late, mired deep in the
gray evening haze. Sharp-shinned Hawks and Northern Harriers picked up the
pace as the day wore on, often galloping past in small squads of three or
more birds. And a late day Merlin let us end on a high note, adding a third
falcon and eleventh species to the daily total.
Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay (2400+), House Finch (10+), American Goldfinch (15+), Cape May
Warbler (3), Ruby-throated HUmmingbird (9), Black Saddlebags (9), Common
Green Darner (2), Monarch (556)
Predictions:
Partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 70s and light east wind.
