Hi Everyone,
The Say's phoebe was still present from 12:00 until I left at 12:40. Jim
Burk (the finder of the bird) and Allen Woodliffe obtained reasonable
pictures of it. The entire time I was there, it was on top of the empty
tobacco wagons, flying around catching flies, occasionally landing in the
empty tomato field. Please stay on the road to view the bird, as this is
private property and walking into the field could make it fly off. The
bird is viewed from about 35 metres away if you stay on the road. This is
the FIRST record for the Rondeau area circle.
Directions: From Blenheim, go west along highway 3 to Lagoon Rd (at the
car wash). Turn left (south) on Lagoon, 0.8 km past Old Street to #19007.
The field and the wagons are on the left side of the road (east), just past
the house. Good luck!
