Today I visited the Blenheim lagoons to see what was around. All four sprinkler cells had excellent habitat, as did the edges around Pond 4. I totalled close to 350 shorebirds of 15 species. Highlight was a Western Willet that was along the north bank of Pond 4. Also 17 American Golden-Plovers, 2 Stilt Sandpipers and 2 Baird's Sandpipers.
My eBird checklist can be viewed at: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S24888002 Blenheim lagoons are located on Lagoon Road approx 1.5 km north of HWY 3. This is just west of the town of Blenheim in The Municipality of Chatham-Kent. A free permit is required before one can access the lagoons. Please refer to Blake Mann's post for permit information, found here: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]&q=subject:%22%5C%5BOntbirds%5C%5D+Blenheim+Sewage+Lagoon+Annual+Permits%22&o=newest Good birding, Josh Vandermeulen joshvandermeulen.blogspot.com Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
