This afternoon at about 3:00 pm I found a flock of about 50 Rusty Blackbirds at the base of the causeway at Shirleys Bay. They were chittering and flying about in the flooded trees. The footing is quite good and access to the causeway is clear.
Directions to Shirley¹s Bay The Shirley¹s Bay parking lot and boat launch is at the north end of Rifle Road, which is on the north side of Carling Avenue west of Moodie Drive. Walk toward the rifle range and take the first road to the right thriugh the woods. Shirleys Bay causeway is on Department of National Defence property, and there is often shooting going on at the Connaught Firing Range.
