I was interested in reading the hawkwatch lists I am a bit surprised to see
we have had a report of a kestrel on the 3rd and today I saw a northern harrier
as well our first trss sparrows are arriving as well as common grackle has
joined the redwings that have arrived. We were also excited to have slow
moving v of sandhill cranes spotted. More reports to follow. thanks to all who
sent me emails to encourage the reporting of birds that are not exciting for
southern birders but those interested in tracking the northward flow of birds
. We still have large flocks of redpolls and snow buntings seem be everywhere .
We currently have lots of snow which will linger but plus 9 is promised for
Thursday. Please keep sending birds north.
