A pair of Hooded mergansers have been on the Zephry Creek river Tuesday the 30th of March and today the 1st of April. They are true signs of spring. They can be seen south-west of the Hamlet of Egypt south off Park Road in the Town of Georgina, east 2 km. at the bridge at the river.

One drake Hooded merganser previously arrived to this location back on March 23 before the cold snap, and was gone when the water froze.

This has been a late year for their arrival, no doubt due to the severe winter.
