Please Report Your Rusties!

Rusty Blackbirds have endured severe population declines. In 2014, the
International Rusty Blackbird Working Group and its partners launched a
three-year Spring Migration Blitz that challenges birders to scour the
landscape for Rusty Blackbirds during this species' northward migration. Year 1
was hugely successful, with 4750 birders submitting 13,400 checklists
containing Rusty Blackbird observations.

You can help us maintain this momentum - be part of Year 2! Watch for Rusty
Blackbirds passing through your area mid March through April. Please submit
your sightings to www.ebird.ca<http://www.ebird.ca> using the observation type
"Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz." Keep an eye out during the rest of
the blitz survey window (March- June) and continue to report any Rusties you
identify. All Rusty Blackbird sightings are welcome, but there are the Areas
of Interest for 2015 that the working group would like to see revisited. To
see the numerous Areas of Interest in Ontario check out the map at
http://rustyblackbird.org/outreach/migration-blitz/2015-areas-of-interest .

Need Rusty Blackbird resources? There are great resources (including id and
location tips) on the Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz page
https://www.facebook.com/rustyblackbirdspringblitz and additional information
is available at the Rusty Blackbird website

Good Birding everyone.
