After diligent almost daily searching since the Point Pelee Christmas Bird Count, I just once again saw the pair of Eurasian Collared-Doves that Michelle Valliant and I found in the summer. I suspect that this species would be new for most of our 2015 Ontario lists.
The pair of ECDO are still at the same location where they were found and seen throughout the fall, in the vicinity of Gore Hill Public School on Seacliffe Dr. East of Leamington. Today as well as the times I saw them in December they were a few hundred metres west of Gore Hill school, in a corn field in the afternoon, then flew up to the hydro lines for a minute or two before retreating to roost for the night. Happy winter birding and happy new year!
