This morning we found a Sora at Henry Marsh in Bracebridge. The bird
appeared alert and was finding something to eat at the edge of some open
water near the outflow by the footbridge. The marsh and beaver pond
are frozen over. The nearby Muskoka River is still open. Could this be
a record late date for a Sora?

Directions: Bracebridge is 2 hrs drive
north of Toronto on Highway 11. Take the southern exit to Bracebridge, Muskoka
Rd 118. Follow 118W to first set of traffic
lights (Eccelstone Dr. and Wellington St.). Turn left onto Beaumont Dr.
and follow to Henry Rd. Park at deadend of Henry Rd. where trail
begins. It's about a five minute walk out to the marsh.

Bye now,
Barbara Taylor
