Erwin Meissner just called to say that 14 Snowy Owls were seen today in the Gore Bay area of Manitoulin Island - most were very lightly marked to "snow white" individuals indicating that they hatched before this year.
Erwin said there was a Northern Hawk-Owl in the Massey area (west of Sudbury) a week ago. He reports Common Redpolls and Pine Grosbeaks are widespread in the Manitoulin and Elliot Lake to Killarney Provincial Park area. He doesn't have email so if you want more information, please call him at 705-368-0161.
