Weather:
It was cold, icy and gray at the start. Snow showers moved in by the late
morning, limiting visibility considerably and shutting us down for two
hours middays. The wind was strong and out of the south.

Raptor Observations:
Two harriers braved the wind and snow.

Non-raptor Observations:
A number of American Pipits (15+) kept us company in the afternoon,
frequently foraging nearby. A single Wilson's Snipe (1) flew overhead
during the late morning. And a healthy helping of waterbirds spent the day
out on the frigid lake. The species rundown was: Tundra Swan (35+), Canada
Goose (200+), Gadwall (140+), Lesser Scaup (350+), American Coot (500+),
Ruddy Duck (80+), Canvasback (180+), Redhead (40+), Red-breasted Merganser
(25+), Common Merganser (2), Bufflehead (4), Common Goldeneye (2), Horned
Grebe (7)

Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with cold temps, strong west wind and a 50 percent chance of
snow flurries.
