Boreal specialties and finches continued to be reported as cited in last
week's report. If you missed it, please see the OFO website at:
http://ontbirds.ca/pipermail/birdalert_ontbirds.ca/

Noteworthy sightings this week occurred at the following two locations:

OLD AIRFIELD (Accessible via Mew Lake Campground road at km 30.6):

Today, two Le Conte's Sparrows were found at the east end near Lake of Two
Rivers.

LAKE TRAVERS MARSH (At km 70.5 on Barron Canyon Road.) [Access:
Turn south off the Highway 17 bypass onto County Road 26, at a point 3.5
kilometres west of the Forest Lea Road (about 9 kilometres west of
Pembroke); travel 300 metres, then turn right onto Barron Canyon Road.]

Despite the extremely high water levels in the marsh which precluded
extensive searching, Nelson's Sparrow sightings involved five on October 2
and at least six on October 4. The marsh is near the radio observatory.

Birders reporting records through eBird are encouraged to share their lists
with the Algonquin Park Bird Records account (APPbirds).
