Birders,

At about 3:30 this afternoon, my Mom and I discovered a Laughing Gull
sitting on the Port Dover pier in the company of Ring-billed and Herring
Gulls. I was able to study it for about an hour before it eventually flew
East and likely landed somehere in the harbor, just East of the pier. The
bird was in definitive basic plumage, perhaps just moulting into 3rd basic,
with 3-4 outer primaries growing (P10 barely started). Places to check
would be the pier itself, the beach, or the harbor.

Good birding,

Directions: Port Dover is located on the North shore of Lake Erie in
Norfolk County, about 15 minutes South of Simcoe. Drive South East on Main
St. Until the end. Turn right onto Harbor St.. This will take you straight
to the pier. There is parking at the end of Harbor St.
