Weather:
Another gorgeous day by the boat launch. Outside some early fog, conditions
overhead were outstanding: clear blue skies with some wispy cloud cover
moving in during the afternoon. The wind was light and out of the east.

Raptor Observations:
Raptor activity was consistently sporadic. Off and on, mixed flurries of
Sharp-shinned, Cooper's, Red-tailed and Broad-winged hawks wound their way
past. The occasional Turkey Vulture stream injected a bit of volume into
the variety supplied by the accipiters and buteos. But just when a flurry
appeared as if it might turn into a more consistent flight, our faucet of
birds would quickly constrict and soon shut off entirely. Of note, though,
Cooper's Hawks continue to be seen with greater frequency, building in
number before our usual early October peak.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay (25000+), Blue-headed Vireo (1), Yellow-rumped Warbler (3),
Northern Flicker (9), Lesser Yellowlegs (1)

Predictions:
Early fog, partly cloudy skies and light, variable winds.
