Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9.5 hours

Official Counter: Jenna McDermott

Observers: Dennis Patrick, Gwen Patrick, Jim McCoy, Scott Fauteux

Visitors:
Lots of company up on the tower today from a man visiting from Burlington,
a couple from Woodstock, a lady from Massachusetts, and Rick, a local
fellow.

Weather:
Winds started in the N this morning and shifted to the SE as the day wore
on. The cloudless blue sky made it easy to lose birds that were flying high
above our heads.

Raptor Observations:
The morning was pretty slow with a few Sharp-shinned Hawks trickling
through each hour. Mid-day brought along some kettles of 5 to 28 Turkey
Vultures. Less quantity but more variety flew by nearer the end of the day,
with the last hour having a beautiful look at a Peregrine and two Northern
Harriers right overhead.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay numbers continue to increase with 9260 seen today. Passerines and
other non-raptors stopped flying over the tower by mid-morning but 62 Cedar
Waxwings, 81 American Goldfinches and 39 Red-Winged Blackbirds were seen
along with a fly-over by a Common Loon. 27 Monarchs. See today's eBird list
http://ebird.org/ebird/canada/view/checklist?subID=S19934177

Predictions:
Winds from the E and SE at 15km/h with temperatures up to 21C. Migration
could be much like it was today.
