The birds were moving through today and some interesting observations were made:

1250 Grackles (conservative estimate), 2 Swainson’s Thrushes, 1 each of
Olive-sided and Great-crested Flycatcher and 4 Pine Warblers in the yard plus
23 cormorants, 16 Killdeer and a Black-bellied Plover over the house.

On a hunch I went north to the sod farms just north of Davis Dr (Scugog Conc.
12 at Lakeridge) and found 93 killdeer in the northwest part of the field. No
other shorebirds but the viewing was tough and the field ploughed so I could
have missed something.
