After seeing little except a few nice warblers at Presqu'ile this morning (we
did not wade out to Gull Island), Martin Parker and I followed up on a tip from
Richard Pope to check out the algae mat on the beach in front of the Cameco
Plant in Port Hope. Here we found a juvenile Buff-breasted Sandpiper, juvenile
Black-bellied Plover and 6 Killdeer.

Directions : Exit off 401 to the downtown section of Port Hope, where you
follow the road under the high bridge to the Go-Train station. Pass this and
proceed past the Cameco Plant down towards the harbour. Just before this, walk
the beach westwards.
