Peter Yoerg just phoned to report a RED KNOT at Erie Beach, near Fort Erie, Ont. This is on Lake Erie, near the start of the Niagara River. From the corner of Lakeshore Road and Bardol Ave, proceed west on Lakeshore a short distance and park near the end of the road. Look for a large sign promoting new homes in the area. Head straight to the lake from the sign to the broken-down pier. The Knot was to the east of the pier. You may have to maneuver carefully through some grasses to avoid flushing the bird.
