Hi All, posting for Mike Runtz and Geof Burbidge Mike and Geof found a singing Chuck-wills-widow at 4am in Prince Edward County early this morning while doing a Birdathon.
Directions: when in the county, head south from Picton towards Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory along County Road 10, follow this road to Milford where you turn right at the post office, continue to the end (opposite the lighthouse museum) then turn right on to county road 13. After you leave the lighthouse museum, you go through a rock cut and after a further 1/2 km turn right onto Hilltop Road. Mike measured the distance along Hilltop Road from county road 13 to where the bird was singing on Hilltop Road, exactly 1km.
