While the conditions were right for migration last night, and radar indicated
that migration took place, it would appear that the birds kept heading north to
their breeding instead of stopping at Point Pelee. While 19 species of warbler
have been seen and heard in the Park this morning they are in low numbers and
spread out over the various trails.

Highlights include a PRAIRIE WARBLER in the Tram Loop at the Tip; a singing
male PROTHONOTARY WARBLER at bridge F on the Woodland Trail; and a
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT still being seen in the area of the Dunes Picnic Area. The
Chat has been seen in this area for almost a week now so hopefully it will
breed in the park this year.

A late BLACK SCOTER was seen in the merganser flock off of the Tip this
morning. Also at the Tip is a report of a WESTERN KINGBIRD.

A WHITE-EYED VIREO is being seen around the Northwest Beach parking lot.

Today is the last day for the guided hikes offered by the Friends of Point
Pelee. We hope to see all of you next year.
