A Snowy Egret just flew over my house while barbecuing on the back deck. Smaller size, black bill, and golden feet were all evident as it was only some 100 feet above the rooftops.
It was headed west but struggling against steadily increasing winds as a line of rain and thunderstorms are moving in. Lakeside Park along the waterfront at the foot of Division St., cedar Creek CA along the Arner Townline, or Holiday Beach CA could be potential landing/shelter spots given the flight direction.
