While thousands came through Eastern Ontario on Tuesday and Wednesday, largely continuing on well into southern Quebec, that may have only been the advance guard, although it was substantial. A contact in New York advised that there were still about 100,000 birds in areas south of Lake Ontario this morning but that there were signs of movement in the flocks and some headed out. Keep your eyes open in the next few days because those birds have to head down the St. Lawrence. We may yet see the typical large flocks in our region and this time hopefully a good number will remain for a while.
