Hi Folks, I decided to head up to Mt. Albert to see what the fuss was about and after doing a few loops of Centre St, Mount Albert Rd and 9th Line, a leucistic Red-tailed Hawk flew in and perched in a field on 9th Line just south of Mt Albert Rd.
It was quite far but well seen through a scope. A very attractive bird and well worth my 20-minute drive but perhaps not some of the drives that may have been undertaken on the weekend. Perhaps there is/was also a Gyrfalcon here, but I didn't notice anything that would keep it around, like large concentrations of pigeons or waterfowl. Cheers, Lev _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
