Increasing numbers of SNOW BUNTING and HORNED LARK are being reported. LAPLAND 
LONGSPUR continue along Lockhead Rd W just east and west of 4th Line Rd SE of 
North Gower and (3) on Cambrian Rd with HORNED LARKS (14) just east of the RR 
crossing on the 3rd.

 

PINE GROSBEAK (1) was singing and WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL (3) were calling 
overhead along the southern Jack Pine trail (near hwy 416) on Feb 28th.

 

NORTHERN HARRIER (m) over Ogilvie Rd and Blair Rd on the 2nd.

 

BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER (1) was found again on the 2nd along the Moodie Dr Jack 
Pine Trails. 

Other reports were: WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (2) continuing at Fletcher Wildlife 
Garden, CEDAR WAXWING and AMERICAN ROBIN at the Britannia Conservation Area, 
CAROLINA WREN (1) and a singing SONG SPARROW in the Qualicum Graham Park 
neighbourhood, COOPER'S HAWK in Parkwood Hills, MERLIN near the Hilda Rd 
feeders and along Herzberg Rd, PEREGRINE FALCON over Steeple Hill, GOLDEN EAGLE 
along Ch. Steele on the 2nd, BALD EAGLE over Mooney's Bay, PURPLE FINCH (7) at 
feeders along O'Hara Dr on the 3rd.  
 
Thank you to everyone who contributed bird observations.

Due to increasing and widespread concerns regarding disturbance of wildlife and 
property, the OFNC's Birds Committee no longer reports owl sightings on the 
Internet. We will continue to encourage the reporting of owls to
