We just came back from a walk to Bronte Harbour. Just offshore amongst bits of
ice were three King Eiders. One was a young male. The two were females, one
noticeably reddish. The three were often close together.

Also present was the regular Snowy Owl, on “F” dock today. There is a nice
selection of ducks on the lake visible from the pier. The outer harbour is
fully frozen. The remains of many predated ducks are present.

Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Road (Oakville) and go to the lake. On
street parking is available. There is a pier on the east side of Bronte Creek
that offers good viewing of the lake.
