Sorry for hitting send before I was done on my last note! > > Hello Ontbirders, > > I headed up to the Holland Marsh to look for Snowy Owls with my daughters and > we were rewarded with close-up views of 3 birds (2 imm, 1 adult female). One > bird was on a small shed on the east side of River Rd which runs north from > Hwy 9 on the west side of Hwy 400. The other 2 were on the east side of Hwy > 400, 1 on a telephone pole on Tornado Rd right beside the road (great views > for the girls) and another was on Simcoe Rd south of Canal Rd also at the top > of a pole by the road. Simcoe Rd is a little further east than the Tornado Rd > bird.
All of these birds were on the Simcoe Cty side of the Holland River. Also at Dufferin & St John Sdrd a pair of Common Ravens near the big cell tower. Directions: Exit Hwy 400 at either Canal Rd or Hwy 9 and explore the many farm roads in the area.
